In case anyone is interested and likes blue cheese, definitely find a good cheese monger and get a little wedge of this. It has a very creamy, soft texture, almost like a very ripe Taleggio or Camembert, with very few blue spots. The spots have crystals from being aged, so there is a slight crunch in the middle of a bite of creamy cheese, which gives a nice contrasting mouth feel. And the blue flavor is very pronounced, but not ammonia-like. The grape leaves and pear brandy flavors are very subtle at the firmer edges, more of a scent than a flavor. I am glad our local place has/had it. I would buy it again for a special occasion or for a fancy dinner/cocktail party.

The phrase “cheese monger” should be used more (maybe it is but not in the South)

I love good cheese but my wife is not a cheese lover so I get my cheese “outside the marriage” at weddings, parties, etc

From newsfromme.com:

The folks at KFC are introducing a "plant-based" version of their signature product which used to be Kentucky Fried Chicken. Some time ago, they got rid of the word "fried" and now they're getting rid of "chicken." Kentucky, you're next!

YouGov findings on the perpetual #Thanksgiving debate: light meat vs. dark meat

Light meat - 50%
Dark meat - 32%
Light meat is my preferred cut for the Thanksgiving dinner. The dark meat is better as leftovers to be used in making turkey pot pies or stews, in my opinion.
No Thanksgiving here for us this year.

Of course being a white meat guy I’m surprised dark meat scored high

Not that I’ve broke break...er, turkey with that many, but it seems like those who like white mean REALLY prefer white meat while those who prefer dark meat don’t mind either
