Vintage Ads: Meat in a Can | The Saturday Evening Post
You’ve heard of Spam, but what about Treet, Prem, Mor, and Bif? These ads from the 1930s – 1960s shows that, at least for a time, canned meats were all the rage.www.saturdayeveningpost.com
I've ordered from Jimmy Johns about a dozen times since I've lived here. The problem I have is I can make a tastier sandwich using store bought turkey cold cuts, vegan dressing and generic American "cheese".
I guess I just suck at knowing what condiments to order on a sandwich from JJs.
I don't know your tastes are, but......not mayo. Go for oil and red wine vinegar ON THE ROLL first, not on the meats. Add oregano. Add red onions, sweet pickled pepper slices and some hot pickled pepper slices if you want some spicy (I'm only talking toppings here, not what's in it). When it is delivered or you bring it home, put it on a plate and put a cutting board on top of it with a can of something on top. Wait 20 minutes. Turn it over and do that again.I've ordered from Jimmy Johns about a dozen times since I've lived here. Yes, I was always HIGHLY offended by the "Mrs" component of the name. It made me, as a male, feel ostracized and that the product was not intended for me. I was made to feel unwelcome in the Mrs. Dash aisle. It's about time this pernicious wrong was righted! I look forward to going to the store one day soon and buying a container of Dash.![]()
Mrs. Dash Is Changing Her Name, Dropping the 'Mrs.'
Spice blend brand Mrs. Dash will now go by Dash, offering the same line of salt-free seasonings with a new look and label.www.foodandwine.com

I let a neighbor use my microwave to heat up some fried chicken.
Now my apartment smells like fried chicken.
We'd have a proper joke if you said your apartment smelled like fish.
