Next time you are in NYC, stop into C.O. Bigelow's in Greenwich Village. You won't be disappointed.I miss old-timey drugstores like the one in the background.

NYC is about 3 hours from here. Not exactly next door, but doable as a day trip if you want. But yeah, things are somewhat compact in the mid-Atlantic and New England. It always amazes me that if you live in the Northeast, seemingly every region in it is only about 45 minutes away. I could be mistaken; that's just the impression I get. I'm not making any day trips to Atlanta, by way of comparison.

Hollywood & Vine, 1944. That's Ginny O'Connor, at the time a member of Mel Torme's vocal group, The Mel-Tones. She would go on to marry Henry Mancini, a marriage that would last 43 years until his death.

I don't know but she's probably 22 there - incredible how old photos (the dress, the hair) made patient seem so mature
Yes, as a matter of fact, I do.In recent times, people in their 60s look like they're in their 50s.

I would never guess in a million years that that was Bowie from that angle.
They look awkward? I could swear it was the other way around!
