January 12, 1969, Led Zeppelin’s debut album was released in the US. Recorded at Olympic Studios in Barnes, London, the LP took only 36 hours of studio time to complete at a cost of just £1,782 ($2,851,) most of the tracks being recorded “live” in the studio with a few overdubs.
