Random Music Thoughts

I listen to new albums a lot, but not so often new artists. Blues is my favorite genre and it's not a very popular one, so don't have a lot of sources for suggestions of new artists.

And for the popular stuff I do like (Americana for instance) there are so many artists I don't know where to start. Occasionally there'll be a playlist on Spotify that I check out, but I run out of patience with them. Listening through 20 tracks I don't care for to find the one I do takes more time and patience than I have on hand.

I'm confined by my own idiosyncrasies.
I think we all are confined to our own idiosyncrasies, to some extent, Meanwhile, I listen to a ton of different mewsiks.

The desire to reach out and extend beyond our own inclinations is what defines our listening. Those of us (I think, all of us @ MG 2.0) that are in this growth pattern, want to know and hear more, to find the artists and albums that will expand our development as active listeners. I commend that desire; I know I am a better person because of it.

There are in-built limitations: time and energy are some of them. Limited resources (money, sources like Spotify) are others. As with many things, the wish to expand is but one of the beauties of music.

I hope I've said something here that resonates; God knows I'm not going to read through that word salad of gibberish, again.

What do you think of Courtney Love now? What did you think of her when you knew her? Were you a fan of Nirvana? Can you name some female musicians that you admire? (Katya)
Courtney was beaten by getting what she wanted. I loved her when I knew her because she was so full of energy that it looked like she'd make a wonderful icon for ugly girls everywhere. Then magazines like Q were saying I'd fucked her. Believe me, that's such a funny thing to contemplate if you'd seen her then. But inheriting all of Kurt's money has meant that she could do a Berlin Airlift on her face and Michael Jackson her way out. I loved Nirvana and Kurt was a total genius - and trust me, Courtney didn't kill him - he'd have died a lot sooner without her, I'm sure.
