I am going to see and hear Sun Kil Moon in concert on Sunday, 10/15/2017, in Los Angeles.
Do you think I would overlook such a thing?Be sure to keep track of how many times Mark curses.

Has anybody ever referred to him as Mark Curse-a-lot?Do you think I would overlook such a thing?![]()
We saw Motown a couple of years ago and enjoyed it a lot.Going to see Motown: The Musical this weekend. Not exactly a "concert" per se, but the reviews seem to categorize it as more musical than play.
Yesterday, I picked up three front-row tix to see Jazzman Kamasi Washington and his incredible show in December.
Looking forward to both.

I'm a huge Al Cisneros acolyte, but more a fan of OM than Sleep. That being said, you will always get your ticket's worth with Matt Pike. When I was younger, I loved to get there early and hold a spot up front so I could stalk Al when he gave that Rickenbacker a workout. Stunning, up close. Now that I am older and my hearing is shot, I tend to hug the back wall. And these shows locally seem to attract the vaping stoners, which really clouds up the room. The contact high has no appeal to me. Get off my lawn! And enjoy the show. Be prepared for Br'er Pike to tear off his shirt early on, which is a little scary with the gut he is sporting.Tickets go on sale Friday for Sleep. Pretty pumped for it. @Pops have you seen them? Any tips for a show by them?
Awesome! I saw them a few years ago, only did a couple from their lame 80's output...great show, though only 2 hours.Saw Chicago Friday night - would never have thought of seeing them (in fact, passed up seeing them in Vegas, I believe, in the 1990s). Like their hits, admire a couple of early albums, but not a huge fan. Still, they were in town, so I said "What the heck!". Boy was I pleasantly surprised. Though older (the three founding members that still tour with the band are 70, most of others 50s-60s), clearly a band that has a great sense of showmanship and one that has a good chemistry (this is their 51st year of consecutive touring). Plus, they are fun performers especially the brass/woodwinds who are front and center on the stage and jump around the stage, often cutting up and trying to rouse up the crowd.
Good show to be at - they started the tour with the double-album Chicago II in its entirety showing off their musical chops (and reminding me what a fine album it is (bit of progressive elements in there too)). From an audience standpoint though, there were definitely a few people who were wondering "What is this?" (the first recognizable song on Chicago (II) for fans just of the hits isn't until side 2). After a 20 minute intermission, the group came back and played over an hour more of hits - it was a 3 hour show with 20 min. intermission. Apparently this tour, with Chicago II, these are the longest shows the band have ever done.
So a fun surprise, and was delighted to hear Chicago II, as I really enjoy that one.
So in a Chicago mood and gonna be playing a number of albums over the next few days - read an article on original guitarist Terry Kath and how talented he was (Hendrix apparently knew him and was impressed by his playing) and appreciating his work today in playing their early albums.
Edit: two highpoints - "Make Me Smile" during the first half which is really such a kick-ass song. Secondly, during their hits second-half, they played a 10-min version of "I'm A Man", a delightful surprise that showcased the musicians.
