Let's face it. If this had more than five RYM ratings, and one in which our own (or someone else's) TheKeenGuy had not taken a toxic dump on this makeshift island, this might have a rating over 3.00.

Uriah Heep - The Landsdowne Tapes (rec. 1969-73, RPM comp. 1993)
Before Uriah Heep, there was Spice, a band with the same three key members: Mick Box (guitars), David Byron (vocals), Paul Newton (bass). This collection includes all of the tracks they recorded as Spice plus a slew of demos from three early incarnations of the Heep. The notes provide a thoroughgoing explanation of how Spice morphed into Uriah Heep, but that may just be a bridge too far for all but the most devoted fans. However the music itself is quite enjoyable, both on its own merits and as a window on how the group was able to develop its proto-metal sound.
on the Sam-O-Meter. No connection with The Spice Girls.
