Bruce Springsteen - Schottenstein Center, Ohio 2005

Another archive concert release, this time from the Devils and Dust tour (just played that 2005 album). Interesting solo show, primarily acoustic, with Bruce getting downright bluesy at time (some people don't like the sound of the "Green Bullet" mike he uses on some songs to create a bluesy distortion). Many of Bruce's later albums didn't appeal to me at first (often due to production touches), but the live setting really brings out the strength of the songwriting. Some great solo acoustic versions of strong, lesser known Tunnel of Love songs (like "Valentine's Day" and "When You're Alone") and a great cover of Suicide's "Dream Baby Dream" to close out the show.

Charlie Hunter - Everybody Has A Plan Until They Get Punched In The Mouth _2016_

This is a quartet with Charlie on his guitar of course, with drums, cornet, and trombone. But with Charlie simultaneously playing bass and lead guitar on his 8-string, this sounds like a quintet. The combo of cornet and trombone on the frontline lends this a rare sound.
