What is a "copyright extension set"? They have to re-release the music or it becomes public domain?

Pretty much, but in these cases it's unreleased music that could be legally "bootlegged" if not released in 50 years after being produced (if I have my understanding of the whole issue correct).

There's a dual CD set entitled Ultravox Extended that was released this year. I have not heard it yet; I saw it in a store in Pasadena on Friday.

A quick listen sounds like it is just a remix of (mostly)the album "Lament". I like the original better. Would be good for a dnace party in your back yard, however. Not for me.
