Okkervil River ~ The Stage Names (2007)

I would consider it condescending to try to tell you anything about this album.
Condescending means talking down to another.
Indie Rock, Folk Rock, Alt-Country

Josienne Clarke & Ben Walker ~ Overnight (2016)

Contemporary Folk, Singer/Songwriter, English Folk Music

I was struck by both the performance and recording. There are times on this album that Josienne sings without any accompaniment, and the effect is beautiful. The accompaniment by Ben is spot-on; his atmospheres are soft and dark.
If @OjaiSam does not like it, I would eat his hat.

Robert Glasper - Fuck Yo Feelings! (2018)

Continuing his style of Jazz that is Jazz that fully embraces Soul and Hip Hop. This is not a forced melding of different genres. Glasper is simply making music that comes naturally to him.

There is a video out there of a recent concert in LA where Glasper's band is joined by Herbie Hancock (who guests on this album) and Herbie is smiling ear to ear, fully enjoying the opportunity to play with the guy that took his place in Jazz. Glasper really is the new Hancock.

I am gradually getting into Robert Glasper; I have three of his earlier albums on CD.

All have piqued my interest. Thanks for introducing him to me, JR.
