Herbie Hancock -

It seems easy for some "serious" Jazz commentators to dismiss this era of Herbie. It's too plugged in for traditionalists, and there's not enough roaring guitar work for many fusionists.
On the other hand, when an album is broad enough to include Wayne Shorter, Stevie Wonder, Bernie Maupin, Bill Summers, and Wah Wah Watson among others, it seems shortsighted to hand it a knee-jerk dismissal.
Being a lover of 70s funk and 70s Jazz, I admit my opinion may be biased, but this works for me.
