Well, there's not much else he could do on a record, is there?

He does it very well on his first Decca LP, belting out some old standards ala Jolson with strong support from Buddy Bregman's ork. After all the novelties and kid songs he had to wax for Capitol, it must have been a huge relief to Old Jer. No one should be forced to record stuff like "The Puppydog Dream".
