Well the opener is the original “Haitian Fight Song”. A classic. It’s a very good album - the title track is a narrative with Jean Shepard to jazz music. Though an interesting choice at the time, it’s dated - though not bad the first time. Definitely an album worth a listen though I’d go to probably 6 other Mingus albums before this oneI have never listened to this release and for some odd, unknown reason associated with the cover artwork have avoided it.
What say ye about this one?
