Lynyrd Skynyrd - Nuthin' Fancy (1975)

Ian & Sylvia - Four Strong Winds (1964)

Popular at the time, now forgotten by those who aren't fans of folk music history. Still they were very influential on Joni Mitchell and Gordon Lightfoot (they covered both songwriters early before they found success) as well as on 60s folk-rockers like The Mamas and Papas and the Airplane.

The Comsat Angels - Time Considered As A Helix Of Semi-Precious Stones (rec. 1979-84, comp. 1992)

The band liked these energetic BBC "live in the studio" recordings better than their official releases. UK post-punk is terra incognita to me after Joy Division but this collection makes me want to dig deeper into the Angels' catalog. Lots of jangly guitars and dark vocals.

:4.5: on the Sam-O-Meter.

I'll join you, but with a different side of Benny:

Benny Goodman and the Chicago Symphony Orchestra- Clarinet Concerto No. 2 (1966)

He only put out a few classical albums, but they are damned good.
Great pick!
:judge::judge::judge:
Benny had the chops to play classical for sure.
