Hag released this never heard show on his own label many years ago but it quickly dropped out of print. I managed to find a copy in Sweden for almost the same price as a trip to Stockholm. But worth every krona.
Well, I have to admit that Mrs. Ojai did demand that Oslo down my music purchases, but I told her "Norway!"Helsinki your money wherever you please, Sam!
P. S. Did this transaction pass muster with the Missus? How about Sophia Bella?

Merle Haggard - Recorded Live At The Golden Nugget (rec. 1966, rel. 2007)
![]()
There's precious little early live Hag available, with the first release being the anthemic concert in 1969 from Muskogee, Oklahoma, U.S.A. This set from three years earlier at the old Golden Nugget in Las Vegas finds a more tentative singer on the cusp of superstardom still developing his act in a smaller venue. The show features then-wife Bonnie Owens, and an early version of his Strangers band led by Fuzzy Owen on steel and Roy Nichols' chicken-pickin' Telecaster. Fuzzy even contributes a vocal on "(I'll Never Forget) Old What's Her Name", a sure candidate for the Best Country Song Title of the Month.

Every so often I’ll find something I’m looking for on Amazon for an outrageous price like that. For some reason that doesn’t seem to happen on Discogs.I have a CD that someone on Amazon is trying to sell for $950. Yet checking Discogs, the last few copies sold for an average of $10 or less. Something doesn't add up.
If that's not a late 1960s band name, I don't know what is.
DEFINITELY a late 60’s band name. They make for a delicious mashup with the Strawberry Alarm Clock.
