Calexico - The Thread That Keeps Us

Lovely, spooky, release. Not as sparse as some of their albums, but they do full production just fine.

Jack White - Boarding House Reach (2018)

While I would probably rank this third among White's three solo album, I appreciate his ventures (with many of the numbers) into electro-funk
(horrible album cover though)

Nocturnal Projections - Complete Studio Recordings (2018)

“Complete Studio Recordings” comprises the three original Nocturnal Projections studio records, direct to board recordings on a 24 track and not a synthesizer to be found! This release is a crucial part of New Zealand’s punk history, remastered and collected for existing fans and new audiences.

Frantic and fast punk anthems like Nerve Ends In Power Lines, Isn’t That Strange, and In Purgatory are a shot in the gut, while slower, more introspective tracks like Difficult Days and You’ll Never Know reveal what the band had in store later with TKP. Nocturnal Projections are hard to pin down: bright, slashing, and prominent guitars with driving solid basslines and drums in tight lockstep, all with Peter Jefferies’ urgent signature baritone vocals soaring alongside – the result is still perhaps the most energetic, unique, and fresh music to ever emerge from the post-punk scene.

Golden Smog- Blood on the Slacks EP (2007)

Wiki says: "Golden Smog is a loosely connected group of musicians comprising, at various times, members of Soul Asylum, The Replacements, Wilco, The Jayhawks, Run Westy Run, The Honeydogs and Big Star. "

The cover of Bowie's "Starman" is pretty good, although it hews awfully closely to the original (pet peeve of mine).

Sloan - Pretty Together (2001)

I don't know why I decided to listen to Sloan's entire discography, when I really was only familiar and liked one album (Never Hear The End Of It). Bland and (Canadian?) radio-friendly music.

The Damn Quails - Down The Hatch (2011)

Alt country debut from Bryon White and Gabriel Marshall offers 14 well-written slices of human nature.

:4.0: on the Sam-O-Meter. RIYL The Bottle Rockets.

I only had a chance to listen to the first two tracks so far, but I really like them. I'm looking forward to finishing the album.
