Vinyl Rip Of The Day.

Woody's orchestra was known as "The Band That Plays The Blues". During 1947 they went all out to justify this sobriquet, recording all of these tunes in April and May:

In The Blue Of The Evening
Am I Blue?
Blue Moon
Between The Devil And The Deep Blue Sea
Blues In The Night
Under A Blanket Of Blue
I Gotta Right To Sing The Blues
Blue Prelude
Bloop Bleep

John Hollenbeck Large Ensemble - All Can Work (2018)

Earlier this morning I listened to Alan Ferber's "Up High, Down Low", an excellent nonet album released a couple of months ago, and felt like keeping the bigger band thing going. Good choice by me.

Peter Bernstein - Signs LIVE! (2017)

I acquired this the old fashioned way. I heard a song on radio. Loved it. Bought the album.

JazzyRandy Digression: Incidentally, a few months later (if I recall correctly) I started my deep dive into Nancy Wilson the same way.

Coincidentally, guitarist Mark Whitfield recently posted a Nancy Wilson crush story that's funny as hades.
