The group cheated a little here, or modified one of their original mission statements. They'd planned to never focus more than once on a musician to which to pay tribute, but this is the second go round for Miles Davis. I guess they might excuse that away by claiming this album is more of a tribute to a "sound" than a musician/composer. This one also features vocals on half the tracks, when previous albums had no singing. That isn't actually a complaint, just an observation.

Whatever the mission-statement quibble, this is another 4-star-plus album by the collective.
