Like a smoother, defter _Down Colourful Hill_ which is not to take anything away from that masterpiece which actually benefits from the hesitant poetic expression at its heart. _The Blue Moods of Spain_ is more sure of itself but perhaps less sure of what lies outside of itself. Imagine Mark Kozelek being possessed by the ghost of Greg Dulli and you may begin to get the idea.
