What's For Dinner?

Made gallons of fresh tomato sauce which we are canning for the winter. We set a quart+ aside to made sauce with meatballs and home made cheese ravioli tonight.

Pork tenderloin marinated with herbes de Provence, garlic, rose, and Clementine juice and zest, grilled. Steamed broccoli and a mixed tomato salad with shallots, burrata, and balsamic glaze on the side. Life is good today.

The best thing about left over pork roast? Shaved and warmed up in a gravy, and stuffed into a hoagie roll with provolone and garlic sauteed broccoli rabe. Awesome, drippy sangwich.

Cold and rainy weather here calls for something hearty.
Putting together a savory apple and sausage pie with herbs, onions, and cider reduction tucked into a cheddar cheese crust.
Is it dessert or a main course? We'll find out in a few hours!! :nickyboy:

Apple and sausage? OK.

Homemade potato gnocchi with fresh tomato sauce and garlic sauteed beet greens.
The recipe for the gnocchi said it serves 4. Really? We froze half of them and still anticipate plenty of left overs from what we are going to cook tonight. I don't think Italians eat THAT much!

We made a classic Caesar salad for dinner last night, which I don't recall if we ever made before. It was delicious. The croutons we made were just French bread slices toasted and then rubbed with raw garlic cloves, then torn up. Let me tell you, raw garlic croutons and a bottle of red wine might just be a dinner Chez Nickyboy some time in the near future. :nickyboy:

I love Caesar salads. Garlic and parm make a great combo.

A brewery around the corner from us is open for drinks on Fridays and often brings in food trucks. Today they had a sausage truck which has won multiple awards. They make the sausages themselves and all the toppings, with a local bakery making their brioche buns, which they butter and grill before loading up.

My wife had the "Reuben Dog", which is a veal, pork, and corned beef dog topped with locally made sauerkraut, Swiss, and crema. I had the "My Dog Would Love That", which was a spicy pork hot dog (about the size of a bratwurst) topped with apple-strawberry-ginger marmalade, spicy peanut sauce, and crumbled bacon. Un.be.fucking.leavably delicious. My wife had an IPA with hers, and I drank a Vanilla Bourbon Stout with mine. So, so , so tasty.

And it was on the ride home that my wife asked me if I enjoyed my hot dog with peanut butter and jelly. Dagnabit! She was right. :p
