Zeeb, I agree that 1960 (or maybe 1955) makes it easier on our members to find material in their comfort zone. It seems like more of a stylistic boundary than a technological one, with Elvis as the Big Bang that rearranged the universe.Indeed, love the earlier decades, but chose these years because the concept of the album/Long player (which started around 1955) was in full force. I don’t mind going to 1955, but prior to that, it’s really smaller collections of singles or books of 78’s. In addition, didn’t want to make it harder for folks who really don’t listen to that far back. Figured most could find an album they know and love from 1960 onward
Lots to choose from musically, too.
