Random Music Thoughts

I like it all, but "Before and After Science" is still my favorite, probably for nostalgic reasons as it was the first Eno album I bought. And college for me was 80s New Wave at parties and All Eno Ambient in my room. Fantastic stuff for late nights and early mornings.
I'm still reeling from your remark that you might be the only Eno fan here.

I am a fan of both his ambient and rock stuff, but the mere idea of more material in the vein of "Apollo: Atmospheres and Soundtracks" makes me a bit woozy. I love "An Ending (Ascent)." As a single piece of music, it is perhaps as sublime as sublime ever is.

If anyone were to doubt this, please listen.

This made me dig further.

I think @Ojai Sam will find this very interesting.

Check out this flowchart on how royalties get paid. I don't really understand it. I think you need an engineering degree. I do know that with anything that complicated, people are of course getting screwed.

After 11 years, I finally pulled the plug on my eMusic subscription yesterday. This was one of my first discoveries on the old board. I stuck with them through innumerable concept makeovers because I could always find interesting music to download at half the price of Amazon or iTunes. Now even Analog Africa and Honest Jon’s have jumped ship. So, adios!

I remember back when they were truly unlimited-- all you could download for your monthly subscription fee. That obviously wasn't going to last, but it was a heady time.

The way I originally found out about the MG was through a couple of posts on the eMusic forum.
