This guy's been in the business a million years presenting blue-eyed soul, R&B, rock, country, jazz, blues, etc. This album is mostly jump blues, something like Cab Calloway's style of music.
Very much a replay of 1970's rock. That was a good time for rock so I want to like this. But it feels like Simmonds hasn't learned any new tricks over the past 50 years. It's a little disappointing. I have to admit I haven't listened to much of the band's work over the years, so I may be taking this out of context.
