Keiko Takeda and Ed RosenBerg ~ Shikisokuzeko (2008)

Tenor Sax ~ Ed RosenBerg
Piano and Percussion ~ Keiko Takeda

Quickly becoming a favorite New Age album. Well, not that quickly... it's rather slow and spaced out.

There's enough air and space between the notes to fill an Air and Space Museum, or something like that.

R.E.M. - It's The End Of The World...As We Know It!!! (Kiss The Stone 1991)

Powerful live show from the 1989 Green tour in pristine soundboard quality. Those guys could sure rock when they wanted to.

Yoko Ono - A Story (1997)

This album consists of songs recorded in 1973. Why she held them back for more than 20 years is a mystery to me. The lyrics are sharp and the vocals far less screechy and more user friendly than her releases at the time. The style is quite varied from folkish acoustic to jazzy rock with lots of electric piano and even some cool horn work from Michael and Randy Brecker. The family photos are a nice touch. Maybe she was afraid of looking like a sell out.

:4.5: on the Sam-O-Meter.
