Lemon Jelly - Lost Horizons (I lucked into a rare vinyl copy of this gem)
R-111791-1300366221.jpeg.jpg

Just remember that track #6 "Experiment Number Six" is supposed to have all that crackling.

Becky Warren - War Surplus

BeckyWarren-WarSurplus-Cover-small-300x274.jpg

Leader from the NPR interview: "Becky Warren's album "War Surplus" is a classic whiskey-soaked, honky-tonk, girl-meets-boy story in 12 songs. Except this story is girl meets boy, boy deploys, boy comes home with PTSD which, soaked in whiskey, tears apart their marriage, which is also something of a classic in the veterans community." (Quil Lawrence).

Interesting story, but also, songs well executed.

Average White Band - AWB (1974)

AverageWhiteBandAWB.jpg

Always forget this band is Scottish (A"Scottish funk and R&B band" (as noted by Wiki) just seems odd).
And apparently these Scots are the "15th most sampled act in history" (from 2011) with licks used by Nas, A Tribe Called Quest, Arrested Development, TLC, Beastie Boys, Ice Cube, and Eric B. and Rakim. Well, how about that!

Melvin Taylor - Beyond the Burning Guitar.

While I discovered Melvin Taylor as a really smooth blues guitarist, he's equally interested in and adept at jazz. This two disc album has a bit of each. Nice smooth music that doesn't mess with concentration on the day job.

Character ~ We Also Create False Promises (2004)

As one RYM poster said, almost 8 1/2 years ago:
In the magical realm of Post-Rock, and between Cougar and Shark Quest, lies Character.

You can quote me, but, without context, the statement is essentially meaningless.

Some dude named axolotl.

Riccardo Cocciante ~ Un Uomo Felice (1994)

My copy says Richard, so I don't know what his friends call him.
