The Rolling Stones - Between the Buttons (1967)

It's been a day for the Stones, as I started with their UK debut The Rolling Stones then went to Rolling Stones No. 2, Out of Our Heads, Aftermath, then this one. May keep on going

The Rolling Stones - Metamorphosis (1975, recorded 1964-1970)

Been awhile since I did an overview of The Stones (who, it was just announced, will be one of the big artists at New Orleans' Jazz Fest in April/May) but I've never included studio outtakes and B-sides which I am this time. Many of them are interesting but not essential (still fun hearing them and some like "Jiving Sister Fanny" are pretty good) - the 1970s outtakes album Metamorphosis is a good source as is their London singles collection.

This series is going well - after about 60 outtakes/B-sides from their 60s output, will keep it up and move onward to Sticky Fingers :)

Jordan Officer - Three Rivers

This singer-songwriter accompanies himself with a little bit of jazz, a little bit of blues. Very pleasant music. This guy often backs up jazz singer Susie Arioli. And it's that kind of backup that borders on stealing the show.
