Johnny Otis - The Chronological Johnny Otis 1950 (Classics comp. 2004)

Johnny's ensemble came at you with so many stars: Little Esther, Mel Walker, The Robins. And then there's the exuberant Redd Lyte, winner of the "best stage name of the month" award. Born Floyd Hollis, he was the younger brother of Jimmy "T-99" Nelson whose big hit was, wait for it, "T-99". These singers are accompanied by the hard rocking Otis big band, featuring the boss man himself on vibes, James Von Streeter on wailing tenor and Devonia "Lady Dee" Williams on piano.

:5.0: on the Sam-O-Meter.

Idaho ~ The Lone Gunman (2005)

There are some albums that stick so deep with me, I can remember the very trip on which I picked it up.

This was to Phoenix for hearings (in North Phoenix) in 2012.

I can't imagine that, if I compiled a list of my 300 favorite albums, this would not be on it.

Then again, I can't imagine ever, for whatever reason, compiling a list of my 300 favorite albums.

Pink Floyd- the Wall (1979)

This sounds slightly dated to me now. I don't know if that's because it is, or I just heard too many times in the early 80s. Still, a solid album.
