David Bowie - Young Americans (1975)

Bobby Hutcherson & Harold Land - San Francisco (1971)

So.Doggone.Good.
No surprise considering the headliners, also that Joe Sample plays piano here and that Duke Pearson produced the set.

Tom Harrell (featuring Esperanza Spalding) - Colors of a Dream (2013)

Sounds like a 60/40 mixture of a Harrell album and a Spalding album in the musical vision of this one. Appropriate given his name headlines this album. The engineers put the volume of his trumpet to her voice at the perfect proportion, neither overshadows the other and both feel just right in the mix with the other instruments.
Musically, this is good, clean fun.

Ray Bonneville - Goin' By Feel

A smooth, gentle folksy blues album. Nice, easy listening to keep me from getting restless while working at home, looking out the window wishing I was doing anything else in the world.

But honestly, after reading the past few pages, I want to listen to some Bowie, John Cale and that Lorde album.
