Krupa reconstituted his big band and invited Anita O'Day and Roy Eldridge along for fun. And fun it is, as the band blasts through a dozen fresh Quincy Jones arrangements. This album is one of the very best of the many big band revivals of the mid- to late-50's.
Though I like Chicago's earliest albums and hits, not sure they're a group I would normally go see, but, hey, they're at Baton Rouge playing with our local symphony (whom I support) so I'm seeing them this Friday with my daughter and elder son. Should be fun.
