Theo Croker - Escape Velocity(2016)
I just became aware of his new release, Star People Nation. Until I order and receive that, I figured I'd listen to his previously most recent album.
AllMusicGuide said of Star People Nation said:
Star People Nation is a stylistically balanced album, deftly counterpoised between spacy '70s world fusion, modal jazz, alternative R&B, and forward-thinking hip-hop. It brings to mind classic works by Eddie Henderson, George Duke, and Donald Byrd, the latter of whom Croker was mentored by while a student at Oberlin College.
George Duke - A Brazilian Love Affair(1980)
As I was listening to the album above, this popped into mind as the perfect and natural followup to the previous two albums.

And it was!

Every time I listen to this (or even look at the cover) I think mid-70s. When I posted it just now, I entered 1977 as the year before I went to RYM for the pic, and was surprised (yet again) to see 1980 as the date.
I have known quite a few claimants with Lupus (SLE). I wouldn't wish it (or any auto-immune or connective tissue disorder of more-than-mild severity) upon anyone.
Steve Kovalckeck / Ben Markley / Marty Kenney / Chris Smith ~ Raincheck (2012)
Raincheck features Steve Kovalcheck on guitar, Ben Markley on piano, Marty Kenney on bass, and Chris Smith on drums. These artists are the preservers of the classic Blue Note / Hard Bop sound of the 1960's. This is memorable, swinging music!
