I suppose that this is on the one list you are not telling us about.

Paul Reddick ~ Sugarbird (2008)

They say you can't judge a book by its cover. This goes for CDs, as well.

I would have guessed Folk, Alt-Country, possibly post-modern Jazz.

It is Blues, in the vein of Kelly Joe Phelps or Keb Mo, but mo' minimal and sparse.

LCD Soundsystem- American Dream (2017)

One reviewer on RYM said that he hears Brian Eno in this release. Funny, because I was thinking the same thing. As well as Talking Heads. I think James Murphy spent a lot of time in the past few months listening to Eno's Another Green World and the Heads' Fear of Music and internalized them both. And that is never a bad thing, as far as I am concerned. This album is like a drug induced dream. Highlights for me are the title track, "Call the Police", and "Oh, Baby". Each time I listen to this album, I enjoy it just a little bit more than the last time.

Three radio programs and two rehearsals show the master composer in a rare informal setting. I scored this one over at Music Boomerang!

The Men They Couldn't Hang - Night of 1000 Candles (1985)

I found this one in an article about the best bands of the Reagan years. Don't ask. Anyway, these guys are British pub rock with Celtic, country and folk overtones. The Pogues meet The Seekers in an Irish pub.

Highly recommended.
