Various Artists - Nuggets: Original Artyfacts From The First Psychedelic Era (Disc 1 of 4)

Been awhile since I broke out the old Nuggets collection - a few years actually. Happy to revisit it.

Need to listen to this again.

I enjoyed this and didn't want it to get lost in the shuffle, so I'm taking a second crack at it.

Edit: The odd combination of lightness and depth of this reminds me of the Pat McGee Band.

What a great box! Recently I've been catching up on its successors, like...

Various Artists - Nuggets II: Original Artyfacts from the British Empire and Beyond, 1964–1969 (2001)

From The Easybeats and The Move to lesser known bands like The Birds and The Craig, this box proves that the US didn't have a corner on garage bands.

We do pronounce them differently, though.

I have that one too, Sam...Fun box set. I remember it had the label on the wrapper stating something like "There are No Hits In the Boxed Set"

Xavier Cugat- Twist with Cugat (1962)

When I got out of college, I somehow got into a deep Xavier Cugat kick. I scoured used record shops and flea markets for Cugat LPs and EPs and ended up with quite a collection. I am more partial to his earlier work, but this gem from '62 is irresistible.

Digital Underground - Sex Packets (1990)

The cassette version (with about 20 more minutes of music than the CD or vinyl) that I transferred to digital a few years ago.
