Random Music Thoughts

Always fascinated with what songs remain popular as the years go on and the others that are forgotten (by most)

Listening to a playlist of the Top 100 songs of 1975 by performance on Billboard Hot 100
Songs like Sugarloaf's "Don't Call Us, We'll Call You", Phoebe Snow's "Poetry Man" and Jessi Colter's "I'm Not Judy" really performed better on the charts compared to Styx's "Lady", KC and the Sunshine Band's "Get Down Tonight" and "Killer Queen".

Clearly FM/classic rock formats have kept some songs alive longer. Others may have had success spread out across adjacent years, but I'm genuinely surprised that I haven't heard many of these songs even on Sirius XM 70s on 7
I didn't even know Gladys Knight and the Pips did a version of "The Way We Were"

Periodically when I plug my phone into my car, rather than play the album I was last listening to, my iPhone (or Apple Music) oddly decides to shuffle my entire library and start playing this random assortment of songs. Typically occurs in the morning when I first get in my car and occurs randomly but perhaps once/month
Of course if anyone understands this demonic possession of my phone, I would love to hear it

Today when I got in the car, the song that started playing "The Soul Drummer" off Ray Barretto's Acid :confused:
