Eric Bachmann - No Recover (2018)



Bachmann is/was the lead singer of Archers of Loaf. This is wildly different. May be of (passing?) interest to @axolotl.

Jason Palmer - At Wally's: Volume 1 (2018)

Palmer, now based in Boston, is from the childhood home of John Coltrane, High Point, NC. This is truly contemporary Jazz with its roots firmly in traditional Jazz. Palmer often deploys a guitar in his bands instead of a piano, and that creates a slightly different sound from most other Jazz quartets/quintets. This time around, Palmer adds a Fender Rhodes to the mix and it fits in perfectly with the guitar -- for the brief time the Fender is there. He is a great player and a fine composer. In fact, his compositions are often so great I can't wait until a decade from now when other Jazz musicians inevitably put out their own versions of his songs.

The only regret here is there should have been more Fender
