Joni Mitchell - Miles of Aisles (November 1974)

This double live LP featured the great Robben Ford on guitar along with Tom Scott's L.A. Express. After six increasingly successful studio albums that took her from niche folk artist to mainstream success, Joni decided to catch her breath with songs collected for the most part from her four day summer run at the Universal Amphitheatre. Perhaps she wanted to refuel her financial bunkers with a pre-Christmas giftable before steaming off the following November to Terra Inaccessa with that record about the hissing lawns which no one ever gave anyone.

At the time, I wasn't wild about the electric keyboards and El Lay lite jazz, but this one sounds great today. The songs speak for themselves, Joni is in great voice and the crowd sounds, well, jazzed.
