But...but Aretha's version of "Border Song" isn't on that album. It's on Young, Gifted and Black

Beep, beep...does not compute

;)
Oops. You're absolutely right. I was listening to her cover of Drown In My Own Tears on that album, when I posted retroactively about Border Song. I shared my confusion. Sorry.

Supergrass - I Should Coco (1995)

Amanda Anne Platt & The Honeycutters

Amanda is a good songwriter and lovely singer. The band masquerades as Americana but is really a throwback to Tammy Wynette-style country music. It's executed in a way that doesn't sound dated. I guess you'd call it an Americana band owing it's roots to 1960's country. Whatever. I like it.

(And please let me know if you can't see the image.)

Julie London - The Singles 1955-62 (Fine & Mellow comp. 2017)

Like Sinatra and others of the period, many of Julie's singles never appeared on albums. This collection finally captures all of them, including the two on Bethlehem that appeared only on an old vinyl compilation. Julie may have been the sultriest singer of all time.

She's a regular on Cocktail compilation CDs. Voice as smooth as honey with a touch of hot smoke.

Sister Sparrow and the Dirty Birds - Fowl Play

Kind of on the R&B side of rock and roll. Backup band includes a three piece horn section and harmonica player. It's a fun band to see live. I like the singer, but have heard others say they wish she'd try less acrobatics and just carry the melody.
