The White Stripes - Get Behind Me Satan (2005)

Get Behind Me Satan

Ben Allison - Cowboy Justice (2006)

Hi-energy, highly melodic, complex at the edges and angles (for those who want to look for complexity i their Jazz) while straightforward in its delivery (for those who don't want complexity), contemporary Jazz. Good stuff, easy to listen to, easy to like.

Incognito - 100 Degrees And Rising (1995)

LA Times said:
Falling somewhere between the outrageous funk of George Clinton’s Parliment/Funkadelic bands and the brassy Tower of Power sound, Incognito’s present style most resembles Maurice White’s Earth, Wind & Fire around 1975, the time of its “That’s the Way of the World” album.

The 13-piece ensemble relies on a quartet of vocalists (a quintet if you count Maunick’s infrequent contributions), three brass players, two keyboardists, a bassist, drummer and percussionist to get its overtly positive message across.

Grover Washington Jr - Come Morning (1981)

So good. I wish I could have been a consumer of this when it was released. I wonder if music listeners in the day were like, "Hey man, did you hear Grover dropped a new album last week? I can't wait to get it!"

That he had such a long career says his records sold and were appreciated by the public. And I remember hearing his singles on the radio. However, by the time I was at the point of actually buying his records myself, it was over a decade later and his fanbase was likely in their early forties instead of late 20s. It would be cool to hear what the hip young adults thought of Grover in his best-selling days.
